Attention: poor audiophile.

Via Crave:

Look at older models: Headphone technology changes over the past 10 years or so have been evolutionary rather than revolutionary, and as a result, sets that came out 5 or more years ago often sound just as good as their more-recently released brethren. And after several years on the market, the list price is often significantly lower than the original MSRP. For example, the Sennheiser CX 300 earbuds once sold for between $60 to $80 online, but now can be found for less than $30.

Really?  These can be had for less than $30?  Sweet Jebus.

A brief history of social media.

It’s funny, reading this article not only brought back memories of the good ol’ days, it made me realize that I’ve dabbled in every sort of category of social media since the beginning, including phone phreaking, which I’m sure is an alien idea to most people today.

The ironic thing is that I’m not all that social to begin with.

Does it open beer bottles, too?

So I’m shopping an adjustable laptop table/stand to complement the new armchair I’m going to buy.  The options are plentiful, but this is one that most impresses me:

LapDawg.  The Swiss Army Knife of laptop stands, or so they say.  And indeed this thing is versatile as hell: it can function as a bed tray, book holder, dinner tray, and of course, a portable laptop desk.  And it appears adjustable to almost every concievable angle, so everything you need is ergonomically optimized.

A few reservations though: I’m worried about its maximum height, which may prevent sitting with your legs underneath it at a sofa, unless its a low sofa.  I’m not sure the desk space is big enough for a mouse too.  And its metal surfaces look kind of cold to the touch.

Otherwise, it’s a buy.  Even at its retail price of $89.  I will still consider the other options out there, including the laptop caddy and the beanbag laptop table.

Once I have this, my chair, and my wireless keyboard and mouse, all hooked up to my 32” HDTV, the transformation will be complete.  I will have become the most efficiently lazy man in the world.
